Sua Lee (이수아, Lee Sooah) is Donald Na's late mother.
Appearance[]
Sua's appearance is similar to her son's. She had slightly darker pale skin and slightly darker platinum blonde hair. She has the same red eyes as him.
Personality[]
Sua loved her son dearly and was worried about how he'd be able to attend school. She was relieved when she found out Donald would be funded until the end high school. She wished she was able to see Donald graduating elementary school and wearing his middle school uniform, but was unfortunately unable to last that long. She would buy Donald chocolate and write small notes of encouragement to him.
History[]
Sua met Donald's biological father and gave birth to Donald. It is unknown what happened to Donald's biological father because Sua later remarried to another man who became Donald's stepfather.
Unfortunately, her new husband was abusive to both her and her son. Sua eventually became fatally ill and was put on life support. She would remain hospitalized until late into Donald's fourth year of elementary school, and her husband would run off with her insurance money after her death. She was cremated and her ashes were stored in a columbarium.
At an unknown point in time, she tries to calm down someone threatening her with a knife in her home with a turned over pot in the background. That person is most likely her husband. It is unknown if it is Donald's father or stepfather, as she only calls that person "Honey".

Episode 177[]
In a flashback she is shown trying to calm down her then husband, who is holding a knife and she is already bleeding from a cut on her forearm.
Episode 253[]
Donald recalls sleeping by his mother's side who is hospitalized and on life support. He also remembers standing in front of the columbarium where her cremated remains and a photo of her are kept.
Episode 256[]
As Donald walks down the street in his injured state, he recalls a memory of his mother giving him chocolate. He takes out his own chocolate bar and eats a piece.

Sua is hospitalized and Donald, who is in fourth grade at the time, wakes up after dozing off by her side. Donald says she should've woken him up but Sua says he was sleeping so calmly. Sua asks Donald how school is, and Donald says that it's fun and working students would be supported until the end of high school. Sua apologizes that she won't be able to see Donald as a high schooler, but is relieved that he'll be funded. She gives him a chocolate bar with a handwritten letter telling him to cheer up.

When Donald is being bullied, he endures it and doesn't fight back so that his mother can eventually see him wearing a middle school uniform.

Donald is determined to keep on getting perfect scores on tests so that his mother can keep on smiling. His homeroom teacher, Mr. Jeong, receives a call from the hospital saying that Sua had died. Mr. Jeong waits until two days later and right before the retest to inform Donald, and forces him to do the test before he can go and see his mother. The shock causes Donald to get the lowest score out of the entire class. Donald rushes to the hospital and sees his mother in the morgue. Her husband had ran off with her life insurance money. The nurses mark her down as having no relatives so that she can have a cremation. There is no one left to be happy about Donald's efforts, which eventually leads to him finally fighting back against his bullies.
Episode 260[]
After his mother is cremated, Donald hugs his mother's photo and sobs while crying out for her. He leaves her photo, a chocolate bar, and a note saying he loves her at her niche at the columbarium.
Episode 261[]
Donald tells Mr. Jeong that letting his mother stay in the morgue for two days is unforgivable. While Myles and his group beat up Mr. Jeong, Donald considers going back to school not only due to his business, but also because he remembers his mother wanting to see him wear a school uniform.

Donald loved her back and lied about his life at school and home so she wouldn't worry about him. He never once fought back against his bullies and endured it for his mother's sake. He was devastated after she passed away which resulted in him finally fighting back.
