Chapter 48

Chapter 48 is the forty eighth chapter of Weak Hero.

Synopsis[]

Gray and Phillip stare each other down in the bathroom. Phillip thinks that since there’s only him and one of his underlings, he’d have to do with an intimidating comment. Phillip glares at Gray and says he’d be careful if he were him. He says if Gray keeps glaring with those goddamn snake eyes, he’ll get them gouged out one day. Gray tells him to try it and says to quit messing with his bag behind his back and to gouge his eyes right there. The bell rings and Phillip says Gray is saved by the bell, but Gray says it’s not quite sure who the bell actually saved, angering Phillip as he leaves. Phillip tells his underling that he’s just waiting to devour him when he’s ripe.

Gray returns to his classroom and Eugene tries to change the mood by bringing up Gray’s greatest interest: studying. He tells Gray that he signed up for Hero Cram School and that he’s in the super basics class. Gray gives Eugene a notebook about key points and tells him to start improving his grades in memorization-based subjects. He tells him to not study like an idiot and to maximize efficiency and minimize burn out. Eugene brings up to Gray about the rumors about him. He tells him that Yoosun’s been calling him the “White Mamba of Eunjang” but Gray isn’t actually interested in the rumors.

Eugene struggles in cram school and everything flies over his head. Rowan shows Eugene a picture of them as kids in front of Eugene’s aunt’s vet. Since neither of them have any classes left, Rowan suggests going home together. Eugene says that since it might rain, he’ll ask his friend in another class if he’s gonna come too.

Eugene asks Gray if he's done yet but Gray still has another class and tells Eugene to go ahead since he has his own umbrella. Eugene tells Rowan that Gray sits next to him at school. As they head home, Eugene notices Helmet in an alley and tells Rowan who he is. Eugene suggest going around to avoid him. Rowan says he could take Helmet out with one blow to the jaw but he’ll let it slide since Eugene is so desperate to stop him.

Rowan realizes he forgot his wallet at his desk in cram school. He parts ways with Eugene and as Rowan is passing by Helmet again, Helmet begins to pick a fight with him. Rowan elbows Helmet in the face.
