Synopsis[]

Kingsley asks Donald about his tattoos, but Donald says it’s nothing to be worried about and that it is only a means for an end. Donald knows that his tattoos look disgusting, but he decided to get tattoos because he can achieve his goals easier and make the most out of the uneasy feeling people who see his tattoos will feel.

Donald doesn’t think they have much time and needs to continue faster. He thinks he needs to rise up even faster. On the day of the Union’s inauguration, Donald has Kingsley get rid of guys they don’t need and to only take the guys that are still useful so that the Union seems like an opportunity that doesn’t come by often. They need to make sure that the cases where people voluntarily going to the Union are publicly seen. A later scene of Jimmy begging Donald for help to rescue Jack from Manwol is shown.

Later, Kingsley suggests Donald join the Olympiad because it is important to keep the student image they have right now because they need official achievements outside of school. Yeo-Il Middle School’s principal doesn’t think Donald can win. Donald brings up the school’s money and grants being sent to the principal’s son instead of going towards the school to get the principal to shut up. In the end, Donald attends the Olympiad and wins first place.

During winter, Donald officially beats Manwol and the Union’s existence is loudly proclaimed. Donald and Kingsley move on to Yeo-Il High School, while Myles goes to Hyeongshin High School. Kingsley mentions that the only problem is Eunjang because Phillip Kim can’t handle it. Donald asks about Jake and Kingsley informs him that Jake has been assigned to Daehyeon High School, and comments that Jake is adapting quicker than expected.

Kingsley mentions that Chungil Lee wants to meet with Donald. Donald knows that Chungil was pushing back their meeting so he could get more favorable terms, but since Manwol is gone he has no choice but to lean on the Union. Donald says it shouldn’t be the Union begging for jobs; they need to make it so that people come looking for the Union themselves.

Donald calls a Union assembly and introduces the last faction of the Union: Ganghak, with Wolf Keum as the school head. Jack informs Jimmy that Wolf is the monster that suddenly popped up and took over Ganghak. Robin notices Grape is pale and trembling, and he asks if he’s sick. Grape cowers in fear and wonders why Wolf is there.

Some time later, Forrest informs Donald of Myles’ secret deals with Manwol and Mr. Jang. At the next meeting, Donald beats up Myles and excommunicates him to show everyone that the only thing more important than money is the rules Donald had made; even founding members are no exceptions.

Donald and Kingsley’s point of view from the last scene of Episode 38 is shown. The two are outside of a convenience store and Donald is smoking. Kingsley asks him if he’s really going to make Forrest the leader of Hyeongshin and mentions that Forrest is lacking. Donald says Forrest is confident so he’ll give him a chance, and that he’ll be the one to clean up any messes Forrest makes.

A montage of the Union throughout the series, as well as Donald’s childhood, is shown. Everyone has a different life story, and everyone has different goals and levels of greed. The Union’s actions and motifs were in order for Donald to forget his troubled past. He struggles to reach the top by any means possible. The achievements the Union made during that small time are surprising in and of themselves.

For Donald, all these results are vital for his survival so he could keep on weathering the storm. So in the end, the storm’s end, stops Donald himself. Donald is thankful for all this time. It is only after he is stopped that he is able to look at the sad child he so desired to hug and love. He has always needed to survive, get stronger, look stronger, and rise higher in order to protect himself at all costs. Donald doesn’t like fields. He thinks he is just a stray dog that’s been thrown away in a field.

Donald’s flashback ends. Kingsley is wearing a suit and is sobbing. A white rose is on a table and Donald’s frame photo is at the front. Donald Na has died.
