Chapter 250

Chapter 250 is the two hundred fiftieth chapter of Weak Hero. It is the 123rd chapter of the third season.

Synopsis[]

Donald notices that Gray’s shoes are tough and realizes that they’re steel toed construction boots. He thinks Gray is more interesting than he thought he’d be. Gray knows he’s at a disadvantage, but he still has a chance as long as he keeps his cool. He jumps back to create some distance.

Donald quickly closes the distance, punches Gray, and elbows him a couple times. Jimmy says Gray acted like he has something up his sleeve, but he’s just getting beaten up. He quickly realizes that even Ben had trouble taking Donald’s punches, yet someone as physically weak as Gray is still standing. Jake says Gray isn’t simply getting hit, but rather he is ever so slightly moving away to minimize the impact.

Donald says it’s a strange feeling how none of his punches are satisfying; he is feeling similarly to the way Jimmy had felt when Gray dodged his punches. Gray dodges one of Donald’s punches by tricking him by making Donald go one way and going in the opposite direction of Donald’s center of gravity. He uses that split second opening to counterattack by kneeing Donald in the torso.

Jake realizes that Gray is using the smallest movements to let the blows roll off of him and when Gray had gone in on Donald’s left, he had been able to mix in a fake at that split second and was cool-headed enough to get in a strike and get out again. Above all, Gray somehow has overcome the overwhelming terror of going up against Donald. What Gray is doing involves inherent talent and instinct.

One can’t rely on traditional notions of distance; hits don’t hit very deep because Gray’s movements are irregular. Donald goes after a part that has less range of movement and punches Gray’s right side. While everyone is surprised by the blunt sound, Gray punches Donald in the chest.

A flashback shows that Gray has hidden a bulletproof vest under his jacket. He has also wrapped his hands and wrists and applied plaster to increase their impact while also keeping his wrists straight. He has hidden them under the gloves Eugene had gifted him. The flashback ends. Gray doesn’t care if people call him cheap because the most important thing to him is winning.

Donald has a flashback to a few years ago where his former teacher asks Donald why he’s doing something to him. Donald tells him that the teacher is the one who has taught him that it doesn’t matter what the methods are as long as you win. The flashback ends.

Gray jumps back away from Donald to create more distance. Many of the people in the crowd are shocked that someone got several direct hits on Donald. Donald says it’s a strange day because Gray is making him remember things that he doesn’t want to remember. He calls Gray’s tricks cute and says to keep going. He asks Gray what’s next.
