Chapter 150

Chapter 150 is the one hundred fiftieth chapter of Weak Hero. It is the 23rd chapter of the third season.

It is the ninth and final part of Gerard Jin's Backstory.

Synopsis[]

Gerard watches as Sangman walks with Hyeonjin at Gimpo International Airport. Gerard asks Hyeonjin if he’s really running away by himself while Slam is in ruins. Hyeonjin says he made himself clear the other day when Gerard had confronted him before the fire. Gerard asks if Slam meant nothing to him and is angry that Hyeonjin has a soloist deal and did solo auditions. He calls him selfish, but Hyeonjin says he doesn’t care what he thinks and says they should just go their separate ways.

Gerard storms away but freezes when he recalls something. He turns around and grabs Hyeonjin’s jacket, pulling his hands out to reveal them both to be heavily wounded and completely bandaged up. Gerard shakily asks Hyeonjin what happened to him.

A flashback shows that Gerard had been knocked unconscious by the explosion and was trapped in the burning building. Hyeonjin ran inside and caught the ceiling beam just in time before it could fall onto Gerard. He screamed for Gerard to wake up, but the latter remained unconscious. Hyeonjin managed to throw the ceiling beam aside and carried Gerard out, calling him an idiot for running inside a burning building just for mere music sheets. The flashback ends.

Gerard asks Hyeonjin if he was the one who had carried him out of the practice room. Hyeonjin says it isn’t a big deal, and Gerard begins to tear up. Sangman reveals that Hyeonjin wanted to keep it a secret that he had turned down casting offers and didn’t apply for a solo audition because he didn’t want to burden anyone. Hyeonjin needs to get a few more operations on his finger joints, and it’ll take at least a year for the nerve endings to heal completely.

Gerard falls to his knees and sobs. It feels as if the whole world came crashing down on him. He asks why Hyeonjin saved him and screams that he doesn’t deserve it. Hyeonjin says that he wanted to take a break anyway. Gerard apologizes to Hyeonjin.

Hyeonjin has Gerard promise that, now that he knows it’s going to take at least a year to recover, to not use his hands in a fight for one year. He says Gerard’s hands are too valuable for that because he is Slam’s lead guitarist. Gerard’s backstory ends.

Gerard punches Seongmok in the face multiple times. For a second, Seongmok has a strange feeling that he’s never felt before. The strange feeling continues to grow as Gerard continues to beat him. The burn above Gerard’s bloodshot eyes only made it more intense. The feeling is fear.

When Seongmok takes a step back and tries to keep a distance for the first time in his life, Gerard doesn't miss his chance and delivers his strongest kick to Seongmok’s face.
