Chapter 123

Chapter 123 is the one hundredth twenty third chapter of Weak Hero. It is the 63rd chapter of the second season.

Synopsis[]

Both Ben and Jake continue to exchange blows. Gray asks if they should do something, but Gerard tells him Ben wants no interference and they should respect that. Deep in their hearts, the gang know Big Ben is their leader.

Timothy, Dean, Eunchan, and Grape also arrive. Dean is surprised that Ben really is fighting one on one. He sees the Naksung Fam, but knows Jake hates ganging up on people like Manwol does.

Every single person there watches the fight in strained silence. It is a brutal match and neither Ben nor Jake want to back down. Jake notices Ben is distracted and almost manages to kick him, but Ben's reflexes save him. Jake fakes a kick and delivers a flying punch.

That one heavy strike causes something to crack inside of Ben. Little droplets of self doubt starts to leak from that vulnerable opening. One of the most frightening things to experience in a fight is pressure. Once you get a taste of that overwhelming sensation, it can make your opponent seem overpowering.

Ben doesn't think he can beat Jake. Jake throws punch after punch, and his heavy fists trigger Ben's forgotten trauma. The deep-seated fear that stems from a bitter memory of defeat crawls up his throat and starts choking him.
