Alex Go (고현탁, Go Hyeon-tak; "Hyun-Tak Go"), sometimes known by his nickname Gogo (고탁; Gotak) is a tritagonist in the Webtoon Weak Hero. He a member of Ben Park's Gang, often seen as the second in command, and a first-year at Eunjang High School and in Class 1-8. Though he is considered Ben Park's lapdog, Alex's strength is still recognized by those of the Yeongdeungpo Union despite not being ranked on the Yeongdeungpo Shuttle Patch.
Appearance
Alex is a fairly lean individual, with black hair and green eyes. He is of average height, but he appears shorter when compared to his taller friends, Ben and Gerard. His black hair is styled as an undercut. There is a small horizontal scar across the bridge of his nose. Its origin has yet to be revealed, but it is implied he got the scar shortly before middle school.
In his debut, Alex is shown wearing his uniform with a tie. In more recent chapters, he is usually seen with an open school uniform shirt and a long-sleeved shirt underneath.
In middle school, he had a similar appearance. His hair was slightly longer but still kept in as an undercut. He was seen wearing the Eunjang Middle school uniform or a black tracksuit.
Personality
Alex is hot-headed and short-tempered, known to power through his fights on pure guts and grit alone. He has mellowed out somewhat after middle school and ignores the trash talk that once enraged him. He is also rather impulsive and quick to start a fight. Despite his temper, he is very caring towards his friends, especially exhibited when he expressed concern for Gray when he was hospitalized.
History
At some point during middle school, Alex fell in with the wrong crowd. Some rumors regarding Ben Park annoyed him, and Ben's own indifference to said rumors disheartened Alex and caused them to drift apart for a short while. During that time, Alex started hanging out with Sean Shin's group, whose defining traits included beating up whoever bothered them or spoke badly about them. They were, unlike Ben, easy to turn against their own group members, and even though they often stuck together in non-threatening situations, they didn't feel any remorse in leaving anyone to fend for himself against stronger opponents, as seen with Michael when he picked a fight with some high-schoolers and asked Sean to go and help him. Sean got there and regretted it, walking past Michael instead and letting him get beat up alone.
Alex was fairly unbothered at first by the group's attitude, to Ben's dismay. He himself was, after all, someone extremely quick to anger, and Sean's group gave him a sense of recognition and cheered him on when it came to picking fights, while Ben often tried to get him to avoid fighting altogether. One day, while spending time with Sean and his "friends", Sean picked a fight with a Yoosun student, who conveniently passed by. Alex tried to stop him, stating that he had a bad hunch about the whole situation and that something didn't quite make sense, but Sean ignored him. Turns out, the Yoosun student had been sent by Jimmy Bae to get picked on as an excuse to start a fight between both middle schools. The moment Jimmy appeared and accused them of hitting his 'closest friend', Alex stood his ground against him, probably thinking that Sean's group would back him up. Instead, they ran away, leaving Alex to deal with the consequences of their actions and Jimmy's beating.
The realization that Sean and his group weren't Ben hit Alex too late. Fortunately, Ben found the group running away from the scene and figured what had happened. He ran all the way to where Alex and Jimmy's group were, but by that time Alex had already been beaten by Jimmy. After a brief fight involving Ben Park and Jimmy Bae, the head of the Union showed up and started his own fight with Ben. Donald Na had absolutely overpowered Ben in a matter of minutes, but he didn't seem like he planned to let them go anytime soon, so Alex stood in between a half-conscious Ben and Donald, and asked the latter to stop hurting him. He even offered to fight him instead, which only amused Donald, who later kicked Alex and sent him flying only to crash against a pile of wooden boards. The boards had loose nails on them, and fell over Alex, but Ben covered him and protected him from the damage, taking the injuries himself. As the situation came to an end, Alex hurriedly carried Ben to the closest hospital. The memories of that situation, along with the guilt of getting his closest friend severely injured, stuck with him to this day. He stopped being reckless ever since.
Alex and Ben remained friends and were transferred to Eunjang High after graduating middle school. Alex had a dispute with another student of Eunjang High, Colton Choi, over a basketball game.
Plot
Yoosun Arc
While in homeroom, Ben Park informs Alex Go that the original leader of Class 1-5 Colton Choi was defeated by a transfer student Gray Yeon. The two go down to Class 1-5 to see who was responsible for defeating Colton Choi where they stare in disbelief along with a crowd of other students, including Gerard Jin, who heard of Gray Yeon's fight that Colton was defeated by someone as scrawny as Gray. Gerard comments how Ben and Alex are inseparable which annoys Alex.
The next day, Ben and Alex decide to skip school early so they could meet the new attractive employee at the pool hall "Billiards" they frequent., unaware that Phillip Kim had arranged for Ben Park to get jumped by Jimmy Bae and his gang from Yoosun High. While Ben and Alex are playing pool and ogling at the new employee they notice a commotion outside by the under pass. They quickly run outside to find Gray Yeon and Gerard Jin being harassed by Yoosun students. Noticing that one of the students is Jack Kang, Jimmy Bae's right hand man, Ben deduces that they are after him to settle their original score. Seeing it as an opportunity to let loose, Ben and Alex quickly team up with Gerard and Gray against the students from Yoosun. As the students fought Gray Yeon managed to stop the fight by defeating one of their toughest members there, Harper Ha (aka Helmet). Seeing the strength of their group, the Yoosun students retrieve for the time being. Ben invites Gray to play pool with them but Gray declines, while Gerard joins in. As the three play pool, Ben can't help but wonder what kind of person Gray really is as his appearance does not fight with his persona while Alex wonders if they will hear from Jimmy Bae and Yoosun again but Ben is not fazed as he is not intimidated by Jimmy Bae.
Following their sudden ambush, Alex and a few students from Eunjang arrive at Billiards for a game a pool where they came across Jimmy Bae and Phillip Kim. Seeing it as an opportunity to entice Ben into fighting him, Jimmy fought Alex and easily beat him as everyone watched and coward. Not wanting Ben to know about what Jimmy did, he ditched school for the next few days so that his injuries would heal. This does not last however as Ben quickly learned from the employee at Gilliard what happened. Ben, having had enough of Jimmy Bae, as well as the Yeongdeungpo Union, decides to take matters into his own hands and confront Jimmy Bae personally. While with Alex after school, Ben is lured to the school's incinerator behind where he finds Jimmy Bae and more students from Yoosun High fighting Gerard Jin. Gray Yeon and Eugene Gale arrive searching for Gray's stolen bag. A rumble breaks out between everyone present, with Ben personally fighting against Jimmy Bae and Alex fighting Jack Kang. The two are evenly matched though Alex begins exhausting more energy the longer their fight drags out. However, their fight ends unfinished as Ben knocks Jimmy unconscious and demanded the remaining Yoosun students to take Jimmy and leave. Alex quickly retrieves Gray's bag for him. Despite their victory, Ben does not believe it will be the last they hear of Jimmy Bae or the Union.

Relationships
Ben Park
Alex and Ben are best friends, having known each other since childhood.[1] When they were younger Ben would often call Alex's house for him to come out to play.[2] Both are extremely protective of the each other. Ben is always quick to anger and violence when he sees Alex hurt, such as after Alex's fight with Colton or during their encounter with Forrest, which contrasts with his usual laid-back and peaceful nature.[3][4] Similarly, Alex is quick to violence when he perceives anyone to be speaking poorly of Ben. This is demonstrated in flashbacks to middle school where Alex's frustration towards Ben's inaction against circulating rumors creates a rift between them. It is implied he has become less easily provoked, though there are still situations where he jumps to physical confrontation, such as with Jack Kang.[5]
During middle school, their friendship went through a rough patch due to the boys being separated into separate classes, and Ben constantly restraining from fighting, this led to Alex resenting Ben slightly. This resentment however dissipated after their fight with Jimmy Bae and Donald Na.
Gray Yeon
Alex and Gray weren't very close at the beginning of the story, as Alex was in disbelief of Gray's fighting abilities until he witnessed Gray defeat Helmet from Yoosun High. As Gray's reputation began to rise, Alex held more respect for Gray's fighting prowess, and has an admiration for Gray which he gained from watching Gray manhandle Helmet by himself (Though it is unclear if this was simple admiration or romantic interest as he apparently 'fell" for Gray).[6] Alex deeply cares about Gray and was concerned when Gray refused to go on the rooftop with the rest of the gang.[7] After Gray's fight with Wolf, Alex has repeatedly made trips to the hospital Gray was being hospitalized in, making sure that Gray is recovering well and bringing in food items.[8][9]
Gerard Jin
Gerard and Alex are school friends, they have been in numerous fights together since the start of the series. Alex is seemingly the only one who knows of Gerard's musical ability after he caught him singing when going to retrieve his phone from the gang's hideout at school.[10] Alex even tells him about an opportunity to work as a wedding singer after seeing him getting rejected from a job at a Live Lounge.[11]
Abilities
Physical
While not as strong as Ben Park or Gerard Jin, Alex is an accomplished fighter. He trains and practices in boxing. His punches are quick and powerful, allowing him to overwhelm most of his opponents, like Colton Choi. He also temporarily overwhelmed Forrest Lee with said punches.[12] However, they are predictable, as seen by his fights with Forrest Lee and Jimmy Bae, two very skilled fighters who dodged and blocked his attacks with ease.
Alex is very resilient, as it took many punches from Jimmy Bae and Forrest Lee to make him stay down. He also took a clean hit to the jaw from Colton and was unfazed.[13] After he sees the strength of the people around him, he realizes he needs to become stronger and starts training more often.
Mental
When fighting, Alex seems to lose all rationality and even begins to laugh psychotically. Later on, he becomes more calm while fighting, although he is still quick to anger when it comes to mentions of Ben. While his academics have not been revealed he seems to take school more seriously than Ben or Gerard, though he will occasionally skip school as well, meaning he may not be as serious as someone like Gray or Eugene.
